Late enrollments are always welcome, depending on class availability. Fall classes start the week after Labor Day, Spring classes start the last week of January, but if you enroll after the semester begins, your tuition is pro-rated, and your materials are paid in full. Full payment when enrolling late is appreciated, however, if you need a payment plan, please ask us. We are happy to work with you! If we have materials on hand, you will receive them with payment. If we need to order them for you, we will try to have them by the next class. Since our materials are shipped from North Carolina, we cannot guarantee that they will arrive in that week, but we will do all that we can to ensure you get your materials promptly.
Recommend our program to your friends! When they sign up for class, they get a free preview class, and you get $10 off your tuition. Already paid for this semester? Apply the discount to your next semester. There is no limit to this offer - so get everyone you know to take Kindermusik!
Why Are Home Materials Required?
Kindermusik recognizes the parent as the child's best teacher. Parents can help the child derive much more benefit from the classroom activities by playful engagement in these activities at home. A foundation of the Kindermusik philosophy is the belief that young children learn best in a family environment, and that music needs to be a part of everyday life, not just a once-a-week activity. Home materials provide the tools for this portion of Kindermusik learning. Children who use the materials on a regular basis have keener participation and enhanced ability to focus in class. CDs provide songs, chants and music for dancing, singing along, creating and playing along, or just for joyful listening as songs are remembered, reinforced, and committed to memory. The Activity Book/Cards contains lyrics and notation for the songs and chants on the CD, ideas for fun activities parents may share with their child at home, and tested ways to expand the week's themes beyond the classroom experiences with games, parenting information, and craft ideas. Story books enhance a home library and are much-loved aids to early literacy. Additional items suit each level's developmental play style-- whether wall banners/picture cards for infants and toddlers, specially designed instruments for older children, or play sets for the creative mind of the preschooler. The home materials are to Kindermusik what lesson books and instrument are to formal lessons, or shoes and leotards are to ballet class - an essential part of full participation in the class as a whole.
Parent Testimonial
Home Materials- We usually use the materials during the session, but we especially return to the materials months later to sing "old" songs and play games. We are not in a session right now because Greta started preschool in January (a big change), but we are still using all of the grasshopper park items and constantly, I mean constantly, sing songs from our fall class, even without the CD (the CD is handy for recalling, esp. in the car). So the materials, for us, are more than just expensive tools, they are part of a library of music we are building and plan to use probably until high school!
Sara Potts & Michelle James -
Sara is the high school vocal music teacher at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and the choir director at Sharonville United Methodist Church. She is so excited to be able to share her love of music with children and families through such a wonderful program!....
Michelle is the mother of three young children, a former preschool and elementary school teacher, and currently co-pastor with her husband at the Presbyterian Church in Glendale. It is a priviledge to bring our Kindermusik program to the Tri-County area so that we can share the gift of music with others!
